Chevron invests in planned biodiesel plant in Texas

May 15 -- Chevron Corp. has invested in a Texas company that plans to build
one of the nation´s first large-scale biodiesel plants.
The San Ramon, Calif., company´s Chevron Technology Ventures LLC subsidiary
has bought a 22-percent stake in Galveston Bay Biodiesel LP. The Houston firm
is building a biodiesel plant that will produce 20 million gallons of biodiesel
fuel per year. The facility will be capable of expanding to produce 100 million
gallons per year.
Galveston Bay Biodiesel plans to complete the Galveston, Texas, plant by the
end of the year.
